Down from Rock Isle Road, you can usually walk around the rocks and direct to the Tor at low tide. It was high tide. The view is toward to south east, so no good for getting a direct view of the rising sun.
Instead I lined up this shot with three main elements. The Pohutakawa Tree on the left, the Tor in the centre, and Rangitoto Island on the horizon. There was still enough pink and mauve hues in the clouds to give a dash of colour to the scene.
